Taught by Lotte Ruth Johnson (founder & Head of Training) and Adam Courting (Hoopla/ Do The Right Scene / Acaprov / NOT GCSE Drama) who have a combined twenty years in the Improv world! Expect 8 weeks of fun, exploration, games, storytelling, scene work and confidence building. If you're an improvisor who has completed level 1 and 2 with us or at any credible Improv school, then this will be a great fit for you. Ideally you'll have performed on stage at least once so you know exactly what to expect. (even if it's still a bit terrifying!) The course will look into the complexities of storytelling through improv, covering tools and techniques to build story, add secondary stories, build clear characters and original, classic or bizarre tales! All while having a great time and building your own confidence. You'll end the course performing at our monthly Cove Comedy night at Golden Goose Theatre, accompanied by great stand up, sketches and Improv groups. Our approach to Improv comes from the concept of 'joy creates joy.' So if you're feeling confident, enjoying the game of improvising, then you will be technically better at it AND the audience will be having more fun too. Using narrative tools found in writing, acting, storytelling and movies, our courses are made accessible for all learning styles. We understand everyone has their own style of working but we'll also encourage you to be brave, try new characters, performance styles. Let's get going.
